What self-management is (and what it is not)
Self-management means taking control of the day-to-day: issuing your invoices on time, knowing which customers are paying late, checking where the money goes and reaching every closing with your information in order. It does not mean replacing your accountant (asesoría) or filing taxes on your own: it means working with them with up-to-date numbers.
Many business owners put it off because management software looks complicated or because they are not accountants. The good news is that today you do not need to learn menus or reports: you only need to know what you want to ask.
Holded: where everything already is
Holded is cloud management software for small businesses and freelancers (pymes y autónomos) in Spain, made by Holded Technologies (Barcelona). What matters for self-management is that, if you record your invoices and connect your bank accounts, Holded already has the full picture of your business. What was missing was a simple way to look at it.
Ask instead of searching: ChatGPT and Claude
ChatGPT and Claude understand what you write in plain language. Connected to your Holded, they answer with your real data instead of generic answers. For example:
- “How much have I invoiced this month, and how does it compare with last month?”
- “Which customers owe me money, and since when?”
- “How much do I have in each bank account?”
- “Which suppliers have I spent the most with this quarter?”

How it connects: isaak.pro
isaak.pro is the connector that links your Holded with ChatGPT and Claude. It is an independent service by Verifactu Business, a Holded Solution Partner; it is not developed by Holded. There are only a few steps:
- Have a paid Holded licence for your company: the connection uses the Holded API, which is included in its paid plans.
- Create the API key in Holded. We explain it in Create your Holded key (in Spanish).
- Connect your company in isaak.pro and authorise access from ChatGPT or Claude.
The first company you connect in isaak.pro is free, forever. The Holded licence is separate and is contracted with Holded.
What it does and what it does not do
- It looks up your sales, purchases, payments received, bank accounts, contacts and accounting.
- It prepares drafts (an invoice, a new contact) that you review and confirm before they reach Holded.
- It does not file taxes or make decisions for you, and it does not replace your accountant.
A 10-minute weekly routine
Self-management works when it becomes a habit. A simple routine for Monday morning:
- Ask how much you invoiced last week and how much you have so far this month.
- Ask for the list of overdue invoices and decide who to chase.
- Check your account balances and the supplier payments you still have to make.
- Upload the week’s receipts and expense invoices to Holded.
- Write down your questions for your accountant, with the figures already in front of you.
Your accountant, better informed
When business owners know their numbers, meetings with the accountant are shorter and more useful: you talk about decisions, not about looking for paperwork. If your accountant also works with Holded, you both share the same information in real time.
